How to Audit Local AI Models (Without OOM Crashes)
With the rise of localized AI, enterprise engineering teams are increasingly downloading open-source LLM weights (like .safetensors, .gguf, or .onnx) and committing them directly to internal repositories or Docker images.
This creates a catastrophic problem for DevSecOps: standard security scanners and AST parsers will attempt to load a 40GB model file into RAM, instantly triggering an Out-Of-Memory (OOM) crash that halts the entire CI/CD pipeline. Because of this, model weights are often explicitly excluded from security scans, creating a massive blind spot.
GitGalaxy solves this using the Neural Auditor, a specialized sensor that surgically inspects massive neural networks without ever loading the weights into memory.
The Zero-RAM Binary Header Audit
When the GitGalaxy Aperture Filter encounters an AI model extension, it immediately shunts the file away from the standard regex physics engines. Instead, it routes the file to the Neural Auditor.
The Auditor performs a "Zero-RAM" extraction, reading only the first few kilobytes of the file to parse the cryptographic headers and metadata dictionaries.
1. Execute the Scan
The Neural Auditor is automatically engaged during a standard GitGalaxy run:
2. The Neural Supernova Mapping
Once the Auditor extracts the model's architecture, parameter count, and quantization levels, it promotes the file to a "Neural Supernova" within the GitGalaxy 3D map.
Because model weights possess immense gravitational density, the engine assigns them a massive structural impact score (scaling up to 10,000 gravity points based on gigabyte size). This ensures the AI model acts as the visual centerpiece of the repository's architecture, pushing smaller utility files into its orbit.
